New cosplay pics – Gunbuster photoshoot
Even if, during the past months, I spent most of my time working on Soda Pop Miniatures’ robot, I still managed to organize other projects on the side on which I have slowly worked when I could. That’s how I could make that super cute costume from a Japanese anime called Gunbuster. I built the set with a friend of mine when I had a little free time and took 2 days to shoot many different pictures. That old school anime from the late 80s showcase the typical workout outfit that was so trendy at that time, with the bodysuit and leg warmers. In the anime, Kazumi Amano is the best student of the school and is seriously training on a regular basis. It was the perfect setup for a gym inspired photoshoot. We reproduced the inside of a spaceship as seen in the anime, the beige wall with a red stripe and the turquoise fake leather bench. Then we painted the training weights to match the bench’s color and we had our set!
I should eventually have more pics from that photoshoot to share, but for now, let’s start with 3 sexy and very cute pics that are available as autographed prints on my store. Enjoy a little 80s touch!

MC, As you have shown before you look great in all your endeavors, and the challenge in creating your costume is got to be giant motivator for you. I’ll bet the feeling you get for helping out well make up what might be a little less of a challenge then your other efforts. but I’m sure you will find a way set a standard for others to follow from here on out. And as always you look great in anything and everything, or hardly anything at all.. .Its a nice thing your doing keep up the awesome work. Your Fan Jeff
Loved reading this! Beautiful Costume. Amazing that you built and painted the set. You really used your ASSets! Lol! I know that’s cheesy, I just couldn’t resist. ;)
MC, Just read your blog post about Power Girl, Spandex, and your adventures in cosplay since 2009. These are the stories that I really enjoy, MC. You know, I’ve told you before. ???
It’s fun to hear how you got started in cosplay. When I was a little kid I had my heroes from the comic books and TV. Superman and Zorro led the way. Later Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, was one. Dish towel capes were easy to achieve as a kid, but self immolation isn’t he best, costume I can think of be it as a child or an adult. Ugh…
I hope that one of these days you’ll sit down and write a book about your adventures in cosplay and costume making. It would be a wonderful read, no doubt. And remember, LOTS of photos. Not only you in the costumes but also working on those incredible costumes. The work and craftsmanship that goes into them. And once the book is written and published, I’ll be first in line for an autographed copy. ;-) — ME
